Dutch Bay Kalpitiya - the ancient Dutch port town has one of the finest beaches in the Puttalam region located against the backdrop of the biggest Lagoon in Sri Lanka.

A sparse forest borders the landward side of the beach. The Sea offers calm blue water during the season and fine white sands making it perfect for beach lovers, “Sun worshipers”and Sea swimming.The magnificent Reef just 200 meters out is perfect for skin and Scuba diving.

The shallow lagoon is ideal for water sports of every nature and also could be used to land Amphibian Airplanes.

It is a cultural center point Dutch Bay has proximity to the well-known historical and Cultural tourist destinations like Anuradhapura, Polonaruwa etc. The Famous Wilpattu national wildlife park is only twenty Minutes by Boat across the lagoon.

Kalpitiya is  connected through a well maintained 4 lane road from the airport to the Kalpitiya turn off the road from Palavi junction to Kalpitiya is under construction, The access to Dutch bay presently is by a Sandy Four wheel drive track or by Ferry from Kalpitiya.

This adds to the charm and Eco tourism we propose. Tourists from nearby places and cities like Negombo and Anuradhapura two major tourist destinations will prefer Dutch Bay for a holiday with a difference.

Dutch Bay Kalpitiya falls on the Ancient Dutch settlement and trading Routes for the Manar Pearls. The area surrounding Dutch Bay is sprinkled with many heritage sites in  Noracholai, Talawila areas. Kudaramalai point where Vijaya the father of the Sinhala Nation landed is also 30 minutes by boat. So it is bound to attract many domestic as well as foreign tourists.
